About

Hi, I’m Gal, a 3rd year PhD student at the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University. My advisor is Dr. NoĆ©mie Elhadad. My research focuses on leveraging machine learning and data visualization techniques with large patient health record data to uncover actionable information for clinicians.

Before starting my PhD I worked in economic consulting and a nonprofit think-tank doing data analytics. I hold an MA in economics from NYU and a BS in financial economics from University of Toronto.
